I don't usually post lyrics on my blog because I find it cheesy and strange. But every once in a while I hear a song and feel the need to share. 2008 is approaching and at the forefront of my mind I think of war and unecessary choices and the haze of negativity that has lingered over our country since the re-election of W. It is about to come to an end. When the Dixie Chicks spoke out against W they received major retaliation. Since then they have had a documentary made about them that chronicles their fight against those who have turned against them and threatened their well being. This song was born out of their newfound fear and I invite you to read it and find in yourselves the easy silence that is there within all of us. The easy silence that anyone can find in times of doubt, confusion, or anger. I have many happy thoughts about 2007, but I am still a person that feels the need to acknowledge the parts of the human condition that make us vulnerable, dark, strong, and real.
