Open Mic

My friend, who is a musical theatre diva, wanted to do open mic last night at Davenports in Wicker Park. A piano bar that supports rising singers and musicians. No cost to participate. Alison brought her audition songs, sheet music in hand. I had no intention of singing. I don't audition for musical theatre. But 3 rum and cokes later I was at the piano singing a song from Jesus Christ Superstar. And to my surprise my voice has gotten BETTER over the past few years. Alison and I are headed to the library today to choose some music for my future auditions. For now I'm headed out for an interview that my temp agency is sending me on. A normal 9-5er with an office downtown. Blaaaahhhhhhhhh.
